Doggy Playdate: A fun and beneficial three hour, off-leash play & exercise session with healthy, friendly pups. And did we mention it’s mostly outdoors? Seriously, what’s not to        ? Apply for our Playdate program today and let your pup unleash their inner dog!

Did you know that many dogs need at least 1 to 2 hours of exercise a day? Unfortunately, a lot of dogs do not receive the right amount of outdoor exercise/mental stimulation, leading to many types of behavioral problems and even health issues. By enrolling in our Doggy Playdate program however, you are helping to ensure your dog's health and happiness for many years to come. After all, there is no better way to tire out your pup than an outdoor play session with pals!

Our Doggy Playdate program is currently offered on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays to medium-large breed dogs/puppies (i.e. dogs who are or will mature to over 25 lbs) who demonstrate a true love for socializing and exercising with other pups, particularly in an outdoor environment. Our doggy playgroups are divided into three hour segments, allowing your dog to appropriately burn off their energy and satisfy their socialization needs without completely exhausting themselves. Unlike traditional daycare settings, our playgroups are hosted outdoors (with the exception of extreme weather) in our 5,000 sq. ft., private play area where your dog can truly run and stretch their legs off-leash!

Why a Pup 'N Pals Playdate?
Since our dogs exercise and play completely off-leash (& collar free!), we place heavy emphasis on dog safety. Each dog is thoroughly evaluated to make sure they are a good fit for our well-established, hand-picked pack. Plus, all dogs accepted into the program must participate in at least one playdate a week to help maintain friendships & pack harmony. This means your dog will be playing with the same, healthy friends week to week. Sounds pretty great, right? Read on for more reasons you and your pup will love a Doggy Playdate!
Off-Leash Freedom!

No Harsh Chemicals: Part of our responsibility as a pet care provider is to keep your dog safe which includes not exposing them to harsh cleaning products often found in a kennel setting. We never treat our yard with chemicals and we use only all-natural, pet safe products such as Seventh Generation cleaning products in our home. For disinfecting our indoor play room, we use a non-toxic disinfectant called Rescue, which is highly effective yet safe, and we wash all bedding using a natural laundry detergent.

Do you offer overnight dog boarding?

At this time, we do not offer overnight dog boarding services, only doggy playdate services Tuesday-Thursday.

Are you bonded and insured?

Yes, we are bonded and insured through Pet Care Affiliates so you can be sure your dog is in good hands while in our care.

Can my puppy participate in a playdate?

Absolutely! Puppies who are at least 9 weeks of age can participate in a playdate. All puppies must have received their first series of vaccinations at least 7 days prior to joining their first playdate and a negative fecal exam with a test for Giardia must be presented before enrollment.

Does my dog have to be spayed or neutered before joining a playdate?

Yes, all dogs over the age of 6 months must be spayed or neutered before joining a playdate to minimize the chance of behavioral issues developing during playtime.

Do you require proof of vaccinations and a negative fecal exam?

Yes, all dogs admitted for a playdate must be current on vaccinations per veterinarian recommendation.  In addition, proof of  a negative standard fecal exam as well as a negative Giardia test must be submitted prior to enrolling your dog for a playdate.

Why does my dog have to be evaluated before booking ongoing playdates?

We know a playdate can be a fun and rewarding way for many dogs to spend their time, but we also understand that this type of environment may not be for every dog which is why we perform a thorough evaluation on all potential playdate dogs to ensure that everybody who is participating in a play session is truly having a great time. Evaluations give us the chance to see how each dog interacts with other dogs and to make sure he or she is comfortable with both our routine and a social setting. This helps us to create a safe and fun playgroup for all.

Why do you require dogs to come for a playdate at least once a week?

Safety is a top priority at Pup 'N Pals which is why we require all dogs to attend a playdate session at least once a week. This not only helps to keep everybody's social skills sharp, but also to maintain solid relationships and familiarity among the pack.

What does my dog need for a playdate?

Getting your dog ready for a playdate is easy as we provide most of the supplies your dog will need for the session. However, your dog should be provided with either a flat-buckle collar or a well-fitted harness, a fixed leash and any apparel that may be appropriate for the weather such as a jacket or sweater.

Why do dogs not wear collars while playing?

Dogs will play collar-free during their play session to minimize the chance of injury. Dogs can play rough at times and by removing collars, we remove the risk of dogs becoming tangled or trapped in each other's collar. For this reason, we ask that all dogs be outfitted with a flat-buckle collar or harness as these are easy to remove and put back on.

Do the dogs play in all types of weather?

Yes, being a natural pet care provider, the dogs will spend most of their playdate outside. With the exception of very bad weather in which case we will use our indoor playroom, we go out rain or shine, so it is important that your dog have a true love for the outdoors!

How is a playdate different from doggy daycare?

Traditional dog daycare facilities offer all day, mostly indoor play in the form of doggy daycare. While some dogs enjoy the long hours of daycare, we feel many dogs benefit more from the structured and balanced type of outdoor play provided by a three-hour playdate service.

How do I book and pay for a playdate?

After the initial client meeting and pet evaluation, all bookings and payments will go through our secure online payment system located on our website. This method is both efficient and convenient and allows payment to be collected prior to service. We do not accept cash or checks and all bookings must be paid for in advance.

What is your cancellation policy?

Since we are limited in the daily number of clients we can take, we do require at least 24 hours' notice in the event you need to cancel a booking. A full refund or credit will be available to clients who give sufficient notice.
