We offer small animal boarding Monday through Sunday, including over holidays, but all pick-up and drop-off times must be scheduled in advance and fall within the pick-up and drop-off time windows listed below. No pick-ups/drop-offs are to be scheduled on major holidays including Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Easter or Fourth of July.
Pick-Up/Drop-Off Hours:
Mondays-Fridays: 6:00 PM-8:00 PM
Saturdays/Sundays: 8:00 AM-12:00 PM
Bonded pets or pets that are able to share the same enclosure will be charged the standard nightly boarding rate plus a discounted fee for the additional pet(s). For example, if you have two rabbits that can share the same suite, your nightly rate would be the standard nightly rate for one rabbit plus an additional $5.00 for the second rabbit. Unfortunately, we do not offer a multiple pet discount for pets from the same family that need to be housed in separate enclosures.
We want to make the boarding and packing process as streamlined as possible, so all rabbits will be provided with a 4' x 4' exercise pen suite that includes a litter box, litter, bowls, bedding and all other housing essentials; you do not need to bring your own pen or cage supplies. We actually request that you bring minimal personal items from home aside from your pet's food, a hard-case carrier and if desired, small items such as toys or chews. We have a specific cleaning routine that is dependent on the use of our own supplies as well as limited storage space, so we really appreciate you letting us take care of all your rabbit's housing needs!
We want to make the boarding and packing process as streamlined as possible, so all guinea pigs will be provided with a 2' x 4' boarding suite which includes fleece bedding, a tunnel, a hideaway and a kitchen area that contains ceramic water and food dishes plus plenty of room for your piggy to eat their veggies and romp around in their hay; you do not need to bring your own pen or cage supplies. We actually request that you bring minimal personal items from home aside from your pet's food, a hard-case carrier and if desired, small items such as toys or chews. We have a specific cleaning routine that is dependent on the use of our own supplies as well as limited storage space, so we really appreciate you letting us take care of all your guinea pig's housing needs!
Yes, so long as the set-up is reasonably sized, all hamsters, chinchillas and other small pets will be housed in their regular habitat or a travel enclosure that you provide to us while boarding. We do not provide cages or cage supplies for the little guys, so please bring all items that are normally part of your pet's cage including bedding/litter, bowls, water bottles, toys, wheels and hideaways.
All pets must be transported in a hard-case, fully-enclosed pet carrier that is to remain at Pup 'N Pals while your pet is boarding and will be returned to you at the end of your pet's stay. Cat carriers are a wonderful option for bunnies and guinea pigs and most pet stores carry small plastic carriers for pocket pets. Please do not bring your pet in a cage, an open bin/container or a fabric, soft shelled pet carrier (these can easily be chewed out of!) Thank you!
Yes, in fact many owners are surprised to learn that rabbits and guinea pigs will drink more (studies have shown 40% more) when provided with a bowl versus a water bottle since this is a more natural way for your pet to drink. We do not use water bottles for our rabbit or guinea pig guests since they are difficult to sanitize and can hinder hydration, but all of our guests adapt extremely well to drinking from a bowl and many owners actually choose to switch to a bowl after learning how sucessful their pet was while boarding!
P.S. We use heavy ceramic crocks for our guests so there is no chance of the bowl being tipped or knocked over, no matter what size your guinea pig or rabbit is! Please do not bring water bottles or bowls from home.
Maintaining your pet's routine diet is of the utmost importance, particularly while boarding. To minimize digestive upset and to keep everybody on track, all pets will be strictly fed the food that is supplied to us by their owners. This includes hay, pelleted food, vegetables and fruits, treats and any medication or supplements your pet will require during their stay. In the case of longer stays (i.e., reservations lasting longer than 7-9 nights), perishable items such as fruits and vegetables will be replaced by us as the owner's original supply diminishes and owners will be charged a grocery fee which is to be paid upon return. We strongly recommend that you bring enough food to last the duration of your pet's stay though it's always a good idea to pack extra in case of an unexpected change in travel plans.
Please note: Because we generously top off our bunny and guinea pig boarder's litter boxes with hay, owners should pack a surplus of hay to ensure no chance of running out!
We are happy to administer oral medication to boarders for an additional medication fee, however we cannot accept pets that are being treated for a communicable illness due to the risk of spreading disease to other boarders. If your pet is being treated for a communicable illness, boarding them at a veterinarian facility or keeping them home with a sitter is a safe and appropriate option until they are fully recovered and healthy enough to be around other pets. Thanks for understanding!
We want all of our guests to be feeling their best and smelling fresh while here, so we clean enclosures daily using nontoxic, environmentally friendly products. Litter boxes are changed and scrubbed, bowls are washed, bedding is vacuumed and cages are spot cleaned at least once a day. In addition, all pens and housing supplies are thouroughly disinfected between guests so you can be sure your pet remains healthy while boarding.
Though we believe exercise and mental stimulation are important for all pets, supervised playtime while boarding is limited for the safety of other boarders. Most guests prefer the comfort and privacy of their pen/enclosure and allowing other pets to explore outside of their normal pens can cause unnecessary stress or even territorial aggression in other guests remaining in their pens. For this reason and as a health precaution, supervised playtime is very limited, but all guests do receive daily interaction and plenty of loving attention while here. Plus, our suites are spacious enough to accommodate even the biggest of zoomies!
For the safety of all boarders, we do not allow unbonded pets or pets from different families to play or come into contact with other boarding guests. Each pet will be housed in their own separate enclosure where they will be able to see other boarders, but no pets will able to physically interact with each other. This minimizes the risk of "disagreements" and injuries and the potential spread of illness.
All bookings and payments go through our secure online payment and booking system located right here on our website. This method is both efficient and convenient and allows payment to be collected prior to service. We do not accept cash or check and all bookings must be paid for by the first day of service.
Please note: Since we are limited in the number of guests we can accomodate, we strongly recommend booking as far in advance as possible in order to secure your pet's reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
- 01
Yes, we are bonded and insured through Pet Care Affiliates so you can be sure your dog is in good hands while in our care!
- 02
Yes, we arrange a Meet 'N Greet with all new clients before scheduling your dog's first walk/run. This gives us a chance to introduce ourselves to you and your dog and for you to ask us any questions you may have about our program. After all, we want both you and your dog to feel completely comfortable with our service before we hit the road!
- 03
Our Canine Fitness Club is your active pup's dream come true! Your dog will enjoy an on-leash, structured fitness session during which they will exercise and explore the great outdoors in the most natural way possible. We have created a high-quality, canine workout club that, depending on which service your pup is enrolled in, includes proper warm-ups/cool-downs, fast-paced (or slower-paced!) walking over varied terrain or running/biking sessions for those canine athletes! We always choose safe, dog-friendly places to walk and run and we change locations frequently to keep your dog's mind stimulated. Depending on which program your pup is enrolled in, we typically walk or run between two and six miles daily, but we do provide rest breaks so your pup can rehydrate and recharge along the way. After an exercise session with Pup 'N Pals, your dog is sure to return home calm and refreshed. We can't think of a better way for your dog to spend the work day, can you?
- 04
Depending on which program your dog is enrolled in, a typical outing for your dog includes 30-120 minutes of activity plus transportation time for our pack walkers. This means your dog can be out of the house for one-three hours. We plan our transportation routes as efficiently as possible, but we do reserve an hour-and-a-half window for all pick-ups and drop-offs. For example, if our pick-ups begin at 8:00 AM, your dog may be picked up anywhere between 8:00 AM and 9:30 AM, depending on your location, traffic, etc. The same goes for drop-offs. However, once your dog's paws hit the trail, we exercise for the full session time guaranteed! We aim to keep our car trips as short as possible even if your pup rides like a pro, so no dog remains in transit for more than an hour-and-a half at a time.
- 05
Our service is all about convenience so as long as we have a way to access your home, you do not have to be present for either pick-ups or drop-offs. We can even pick-up and drop-off at your workplace, as long as it's within our service area, of course!

We know our Fitness Club can be a fun and rewarding way for many dogs to spend their time, but we also understand that this type of service may not be for every dog which is why we perform a thorough evaluation on each new dog entering the program to ensure all dogs participating in the Club are truly a good fit. Evaluations give us the chance to see how each dog interacts with us in an exercise setting and to perform a general assessment of the dog including an overall assessment of fitness, behavior and training. This helps us to create a safe and fun exercise experience for all. Best of all, your dog's first evaluation walk/run is free!
- 07
By enrolling your dog in our Canine Fitness Club, you are joining a group of like-minded owners who respect and honor their dog's need for quality exercise. Traditional dog care services such as dog walking or doggy daycare are wonderful options for many dogs, but our structured walking and running programs provide a unique alternative for those dogs that crave just a bit more mental and physical stimulation than conventional options can provide alone. We get your dogs outside and into nature where they can truly experience the world as a dog! No indoor facilities or unstructured routines here. Just fresh air, exercise and outdoor adventures!
- 08
We walk and run dogs for a reason: we love being outside! This means that with the exception of extreme weather or dangerous driving conditions such as snow or ice, we walk and run year-round, in all types of weather. After all, your dog's exercise and stimulation needs don't change just because it's raining or a little chilly. In fact, with the right gear or apparel, your dog will be more than happy to walk/run rain or shine!
- 09
Absolutely! In fact, once your dog has completed private dog walking sessions with us, we have a program designed specifically for dogs under 25 lbs: Mini Miles! These sessions are geared for smaller pups who love to get out and explore, but may not be able to keep up with the big pups. With each session averaging between 2-3 miles, it's the perfect way to tire your little one out while also giving them a fabulous mental workout. However, if you have an energetic small dog, our running program may be a great option for them as well! All dogs can benefit from the right amount of outdoor exercise and socialization, and small dogs are no exception.

Yes, puppies (dogs under a year old) are welcome and highly encouraged to join our structured walking program since this service is a great way to instill healthy leash manners and important training skills at a valuable and formulative period in your pup's life. In addition to providing low-intensity, puppy appropriate exercise, structured walks are a fabulous way to burn mental energy, leaving you with one sleepy, ready-to-nap pup; we can't think of anything cuter! Structured walks also prevent many behavioral issues from popping up down the line and are a pivotal factor in paving the way for a calm, balanced adult dog; structured walks are really a no brainer when it comes to puppies and we think all young dogs should participate in this wonderful training opportunity!
Unfortunately, we do not accept puppies into any of our other exercise programs including running, Bike 'N Hikes or pack walking since they are just too young for such activity. It can take dogs up to a year and sometimes longer depending on breed, size, genetics, etc. to fully develop both mentally and physically and it is recommended that young dogs do not participate in overly strenuous activities until their joints have fully matured to avoid future health problems. In fact, we highly recommend dogs of all ages be cleared by a veterinarian before beginning any of our programs just to ensure a clean bill of health. If you have a dog younger than 12 months, your puppy will benefit from shorter activity sessions such as playdates with other dogs or our structured training walks which will tire them out and teach them essential skills until they are ready to take on a full workout session!
- 11
The only equipment your dog needs for a walk or run is a collar with ID tags attached and any weather appropriate apparel that may be necessary for their session such as a rain jacket, booties, etc.
And that's it!
We provide everything else your dog may need for their exercise session, including leashes (we use slip leads and transitional leashes), high-quality weighted backpacks, water, snacks, towels and wipes for cleaning off (we never return your dog home dirty!), waste bags and first-aid supplies.
- 12
Safety is a top priority at Pup 'N Pals which is why we require all dogs to walk or run at least once a week, though we highly recommend 2-3 sessions per week and a combination of both our walking/running programs for the most benefit. (Think about it: You wouldn't go to the gym once a week and expect results!) This not only keeps everybody's social/training skills sharp, but also helps to maintain solid relationships with us and familiarity with our program. Plus, weekly varied sessions keep your pup fit so they can walk and run with ease and remain injury free!
- 13
After the initial Meet 'N Greet and evaluation walk or run, all bookings and payments go through our secure online payment system. This method is both efficient and convenient and allows payment to be collected prior to service. We do not accept cash or checks and all bookings must be paid for in advance on a monthly basis.

Because we are limited in the daily number of clients that we can take, we do require at least 24 hours' notice in the event that you need to cancel a booking. A full refund or credit will be available to clients who give sufficient notice. Should we need to cancel a walk/run due to weather conditions or other circumstances, we will notify you as soon as possible and credit your account for future bookings.
